They eat beans mostly주로, this old yellow pair(= 늙은흑인부부임을 알 수 있음) 늙은 흑인 부부는 주로 콩을 먹는다.
Dinner is a casual affair. 저녁식사는 가벼운 일이다.
Plain chipware(= plates that are chipped, 이빠진식기) on a plain and creaking삐걱거리는 wood,
Tin flatware접시. (= 'plain' is emphasized, low class) → 그들의 가난한 살림살이를 묘사해준다.

Two who are Mostly Good. (= 즉, 일반적인 사람들)
Two who have lived their day, 
But keep on putting on their clothes 
And putting things away. 2연 = 노부부의 일상을 보여준다. 

And remembering . . . 그리고 기억하고 기억한다.
Remembering, with twinklings and twinges, 반짝거리고 짜릿한 통증을 (→ 이는 그들의 일상생활과 대조된다.)
As they lean over the beans in their rented back room that (본인 소유의 집에서 생활하는 것이 아님 → 즉 가난함.) 
is full of beads and receipts and dolls and cloths,
tobacco crumbs, vases and fringes. → 그 방은구슬, 영수증, 형, 옷, 담배찌꺼기, 화분, 장식술 과 같은 값싼 물건들로 가득차있다.
